Volunteers and the law

This course will help you create a positive and inclusive experience for volunteers. The course will explore best practice in relation to safeguarding, data protection, health and safety, and equality.

Outcomes

By the end of the training, you'll:

• understand the legal position of volunteers and the implications of working volunteers
• explore every aspect of the volunteer journey, including planning, recruitment, induction, support, and development
• identify key issues for your organisation to be aware of, and actions to take to reduce risk
• consider how to use legislation to develop and communicate an inclusive approach.

Who should attend

This course is for anyone who manages volunteers or is new to volunteer management.

It will also be a useful refresher for anyone with existing knowledge of volunteers and the law.
