Join our passionate team at the Bath Rugby Foundation. We are dedicated to transforming the lives of hard-to-reach young people through innovative educational programmes. Our mission is to engage those at risk of becoming NEET (not in education, employment, or training) and provide them with the skills and qualifications needed to thrive.


Job Description:

The Community Sports Coach is responsible for delivering high-quality sports coaching and development programmes to individuals of all ages and abilities within the community. The coach will work closely with local schools, community centres, and other organisations to promote sports participation and foster a positive and inclusive environment.


Coaching:

Provide expert coaching and instruction in a variety of sports, including rugby, football, basketball, and golf.

Teach fundamental skills and support the development of growth mindset to all participants.

Encourage positive sportsmanship, fair play, and respect amongst participants.

Plan and create session plans, schemes of work, and resources with appropriate risk assessments in place.


Community Engagement:

Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, schools, and organisations.

Promote sports participation through outreach activities, events, and social media content (sent to the Communications Manager).

Collaborate with local partners to address community needs and challenges.


Programme Development:

Develop and implement comprehensive sports programmes that cater to various age groups and skill levels.

Create engaging and inclusive training sessions that promote physical activity, skill development, and teamwork.

Collaborate with community partners to identify and address the needs of participants.

Ensure the organisation’s assets used by the Community Coaches such as work cars, and laptops, are held to a high standard and a duty of care is followed.


Administration:

Manage programme registration, attendance, surveys and equipment.

Ensure compliance with safety and safeguarding regulations and guidelines.

Prepare and submit reports on programme activities and outcomes.


Additional:

Undertake other responsibilities as directed by your line manager or CEO.

Work flexibly to cover tasks not specified in the job description.

Assess and take responsibility for your performance.

Conduct yourself in a professional manner.


About You:

You are a skilled, knowledgeable, and experienced sports coach with a deep understanding of young people with complex behavioural needs, SEN, and mental health disorders. You are committed to developing your expertise in behaviour change theory and safeguarding best practices.


You must have a full, clean driving license.
