This is an exciting opportunity to join our small and dynamic team at The Museum of East Asian Art.

You will be passionate about working with people and have experience in a retail or customer services setting which you can draw on to create a warm welcoming atmosphere for our visitors to the Museum Shop.

You will be familiar with Electronic Point of Sale till systems (EPOS) for taking payments and processing admissions and have experience with buying and budgeting, EPOS back office and cataloguing procedures. Experience of ecommerce would be helpful, but there will be opportunities for developing this side of the role if you don’t already have this knowledge. You will have strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and the willingness to learn new IT systems alongside the ability to multitask, show initiative and have excellent attention to detail.

You will also have experience with social media platforms in a workplace setting, including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and will be looking to gain more knowledge and experience in this area. You will be comfortable with content creation, have copywriting skills, and enjoy creating engaging material to connect with online audiences. It would be beneficial to have knowledge of editorial planning, campaign creation and scheduling social media.

Alongside your passion for customer service, you will have a strong interest in arts and culture and enjoy meeting new people.

As we emerge from the pandemic we are embarking on an exciting new project to reimaging how to become more relevant and resilient as a Museum in a changed world. The Reimagining Project will explore how we use all the spaces and resources within our Museum more effectively. You will be very much part of this adventure which will mean new ways of thinking and working to enable us to continue to deliver a vibrant, relevant and engaging experience.
