69th Bath Scouts

Brief Description of Organisation

Scouts is where young people make new friends, have amazing adventures, and learn new skills. Everyone’s welcome here. All genders, races and backgrounds– there’s a Scout adventure out there waiting for them. Volunteers give back, gain skills, boost wellbeing and make friends for life.

Full Description of Organisation

Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. But, we also get to hang out with our friends every week – having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges. Every week we give 75 young people, girls and boys, the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.

69th Bath (Lower Weston) are long-established and proud to support our community. We help care for the local environment, volunteer at the Bath Half, fundraise and help our members be their best.

Our our latest news is here News | 69th Bath (Lower Weston) (69thbathscouts.org.uk)

One recent quote from a child experiencing difficulties at school explained that ‘Scouting is my treasured place where I can be myself and forget about all the hard stuff going on.’

We believe that every child deserves the chance to experience the benefits of scouting, regardless of their background.

Volunteering can be a brilliant way to boost your mental wellbeing. It’s a great feeling knowing you’re helping young people get skills for life, and you might even learn a lot about yourself along the way. Scouts can make you feel good in other ways too. We’ll guide you to an opportunity  where you’ll:

  • Make friends and meet people

  • Try new things and challenge yourself

  • Get outdoors and get stuck in

  • Positively impact your community

  • Create vital opportunities for young people

  • Make memories that'll last a lifetime

If you can only occasionally help, that’s OK. We appreciate any time you can spare. There's so many roles involved in supporting the Group, including caring for our kit, helping with membership, looking after finances and becoming a Trustee. The central team work very collaboratively to put on fantastic activities for young people.
