Claverton Pumping Station Trust CIO
Full Description of Organisation
Claverton Pumping Station is a Georgian beam engine, built during the industrial revolution to lift water from the River Avon into the canal. From 1813 until 1952 the pumping station kept the Bath lock flight topped up with water, providing an important transport link for the city.
We maintain and operate the Grade I listed building and machinery as an independent all-volunteer charity. We open the site as a museum during the summer months.
