Full Description of Organisation
MHA Communities Mendip is a local scheme working to reduce isolation and loneliness, improve health and wellbeing of local older people, enabling them to live later life well.
MHA Communities Mendip builds stronger communities through services and activities for people over 55 supported by local volunteers, maintaining health and wellbeing, providing mental stimulation, meaningful connections, restoring lost confidence and a vital preventative measure with the right support at the right time. We are part of Methodist Homes (MHA) a trusted charity care provider who give some support with recruitment HR, policy, training, safeguarding, legal and regulatory matters (for which we share the charity number), but we operate our own bank account, complete local accounts and are responsible for raising all funds locally to ensure autonomy over provision and a tailored response.
Mendip scheme current offer extends to Midsomer Norton and Peasedown St John in B&NES, and we have befriending services matches more widely across Mendip.
