Midsomer Norton & Radstock Community Service Vehicle Trust
Brief Description of Organisation
The trust, established in 1967, operates a fully accessible 12 seater minibus with a powered tail lift for wheelchair access. A number of organisations around the district use the service including luncheon, gardening and afternoon clubs as well as churches and youth groups.
Full Description of Organisation
Operated entirely by volunteers we offer an accessible minibus service to community groups in the Bath & North East Somerset Council area and surrounding villages.
To those community groups which are affiliated members of the Trust we offer a door to door accessible minibus service to get their members to and from meetings and social events, such as lunch clubs and church services and for time out at the garden centre, theatre and seaside for example. There is a small annual membership fee, currently £12 per group, and use of the minibus is charged at £1 per mile. Enquiries regarding membership can be made by contacting Melvyn Johnson on 01761452585.
Our fully accessible twelve seater minibus has a low step side door to ease access and egress and for those passengers who find that difficult or who are wheelchair users there is a powered tail lift.
All of our volunteer drivers are MIDAS (minibus driver accreditation scheme) accredited and will be more than happy to assist passengers to and from the minibus.
