Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme (RSVP West) members choose the activity(ies) of their choice and the amount of time they wish to donate - most of them are involved in a team of volunteers led by a volunteer Project Organiser. 

The main activities include the provision of transport and befriending/wellbeing services (usually via partnerships with GP Surgeries), Volunteer Drivers Groups, a Schools Programme (mainly literacy and numeracy support for disadvantaged schoolchildren) and independant Lay Assessors involved with a local authority for the monitoring of Care Homes and Home Care services.

There are no salaried staff. All out-of-pocket expenses are reimbursed and personal accident and third party insurance cover is provided.
