3SG to bid farewell to Miles Lloyd

Updated: May 30, 2023

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that our Project Manager, and dear friend, Miles Lloyd, will be leaving 3SG for pastures new in June. Miles has been an invaluable and instrumental part of the team since his arrival three years ago, and with news of his departure, our Director, Becky, had a few words to share...

"As a really close team, we are absolutely devastated to be saying goodbye to Miles, but, speaking as friends, we also need to be excited for this new chapter in his life. He'll be making the permanent move to London, with a new challenge of working for a large charitable organisation in something that he is hugely passionate about - sport and fitness.

"There have been lots of tears already and I'm sure there will be a few more before his last day, but we'd like to put on record the biggest thanks to Miles. He always goes above and beyond and has given so much to the Third Sector and the local community, particularly through his work during the pandemic - and he has firmly helped 3SG to establish itself as the Infrastructure Organisation for BaNES.

"I have never met someone so dedicated, hardworking and kind and we will miss him greatly. I only accepted his resignation on the caveat that he returns one day! Good luck Miles, we are all rooting for you - you have such a bright future ahead."

A message from Miles:

"Three years ago, I joined 3SG straight out of university and into a pandemic! Whilst there have been so many memorable moments in my role, the most enjoyable part has been the incredible people I’ve met along the way.

"I have had the privilege of working with brilliant trustees, amazing volunteers, and a diverse range of members. I have learned so much from all of you, and I’m so grateful to have worked with such inspiring people.

"A special thanks to Emma and Becky who have been the most incredible people to work with and I’m going to miss our laughs and foodie chats a lot!!

"I will cherish the memories I have made here, thank you for everything!"

We know that many of you will be sad to hear this news, and keen to say your goodbyes to Miles and wish him well on his future endeavours in London. We have therefore adapted our Third Sector Social, on Friday 23rd June, to serve the dual purpose of providing Miles with a fitting send off. If you would like to come along, please register here.

This event will take place between 4.30 - 6.30pm at Newark Works, Bath.

Of course, this news also opens up an opportunity for a new individual to join the team at 3SG. We are now actively recruiting for a Project Manager who is passionate about supporting the Third Sector. More details about the vacancy can be found here: https://bit.ly/43qQQ3D

If you know anyone who may be interested in applying, please share this opportunity with them and with your networks.
