Bath Mind launches new service: Breathing Space

Bath Mind is delighted to announce the launch of their new Breathing Space service to the B&NES community.

The Breathing Space will support people within the B&NES community who are at the point of mental health distress or crisis. The service launches on 13th April, and will be open 365 evenings a year, from 5.30-11.30pm.

Due to coronavirus, this service will initially operate as a telephone support, returning to a face-to-face service from a central Bath location, when the coronavirus crisis is over.

Paul Cooper, Head of Services at Bath Mind, for a long time our local community have made clear the need for a non-clinical service to be available in the evenings for people struggling with their mental health. The Breathing Space will be able to provide ‘phone support in the immediate term, and longer term face to face support within a safe space. We will ensure everyone has a follow up plan and strategies to manage their wellbeing.

We believe this service will make a real impact to people’s lives and will improve mental health provision, offering a non-clinical alternative to A&E and out of hours’ services.

Bath Mind is a local, independent charity; we put people at the heart of everything we do. To donate, or find out more visit www.bathmind.org.uk
