The Art Cohort is delighted to announce that they have been awarded funding by The West of England Combined Authority (WECA) for a programme called CREATING TOGETHER. They are very excited to say that this funding enables them to run 6 weeks of workshops run by 3 local artists starting in October 2021.
The Covid-19 pandemic has been a challenging and unpredictable time. For many, this time has been particularly isolating and lonely. The Creating Together Workshops aim to provide a space for individuals who have experienced isolation due to the pandemic to reconnect within their local community through art-making.
They aim to explore creative strategies to maintain mental health through supportive, imaginative and exploratory art activities. Promoting the possibilities of art-making as life affirming, confidence building and connecting us back together.
Offering creative classes with local artists every week for 6 consecutive weeks intends to promote playful fun and finding freedom in art making for those who have experienced the loss of human contact.
