    Previous Job Next Job The Life Project is an independent, local charity rooted in Christian principles and ethos. We have been working with adults with learning disabilities for over 10 years, striving to create communities, transform society and love life. We provide Day Services and opportunities for fellowship and worship to adults with learning disabilities, as well as support to their families. Our current Family Support includes weekly a Parent Carer Drop-In on Tuesdays and a WhatsApp group for peer support, advice and guidance. Reporting to the CEO, the appointed applicant will lead on the oversight, delivery, and development of our Family Support. As well as direct service delivery this role will further develop and implement our strategic goals to become a robust and sustainable organisation. Currently our family support mostly reaches mothers and other female family carers who can attend to the drop in on Tuesday’s. We know that there is a wider need to support fathers and other male carers, parents who are working during the day, and those who find travel into Bath a challenge. We are looking for someone who can oversee our well-established Parent Support and identify and implement the priorities for our next phase of growth. To be successful in this role you will be proactive, have a positive solution-focused attitude and the ability to help realise the significant ambition of this Christian charity. There is an expectation that this role will progress over time as our Family Support develops and increases. Initially we are recruiting to 8 hours per week but as the services increase so too will the hours. The post-holder will manage the volunteering programme from recruitment through overseeing engagement processes to measuring impact, evaluation and reporting. RICE is an internationally renowned research and treatment centre located in Bath. Visit Website Full Description of Organisation The Peasedown Community Trust has been established with the aim of championing civic and community life in Peasedown St. John. Set up in the wake of the recent coronavirus pandemic, Peasedown Community Trust is an amalgamation of several community projects that have decided to join together to form one united charity. The Trustees, a collection of business representatives, community leaders and councillors, have between them years’ of experience of running successful business and voluntary initiatives. Peasedown St John is a fantastic place to live, work and visit – and we have a lot to shout about. With a population of almost 7,000 residents, the village has a need for a civic body that champions good causes and is proactive with ‘getting things done'. Our team of trustees are already running successful community projects, and we have a vision to do a lot more over the next 5 years. Projects currently run by the Trust are: Peasedown Community Library – in partnership with B&NES Council, the Trust run the village’s library service. Over 20 volunteers help manage a wide range of library services each week. Peasedown Community Garden – in partnership with Curo, they run a sensory, quiet garden where villagers can go to relax, unwind, and volunteer in a range of initiatives. Dementia Friendly Peasedown – dementia affects everyone! A team of trained Dementia Champions are raising awareness of the condition across the village and helping to create a dementia-friendly community we can all be proud of! The Community Trust’s aims and aspirations are to Run projects that strengthen the community Run services that benefit local residents Champion local issues Represent the views of residents The Trust will also have a strong environmental angle. We want to champion environmental causes, support projects that encourage sustainable living and foster an approach that protects and strengthens the local habitat.
